Spiral Welded Pipe

Spiral welded pipe: is the low carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel strip according to a certain helix angle (called forming angle) rolled into a pipe blank, and then welded up the pipe seam to make, it can use narrower strip steel to produce large diameter steel pipe. Its specifications are expressed by the outer diameter * wall thickness, and the welded pipe should ensure that the hydraulic test, tensile strength and cold bending performance of the weld should meet the regulations.

Spiral welded pipes are mainly used in water engineering, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, electric power industry, agricultural irrigation, urban construction. For liquid transportation: water supply, drainage. For gas transportation: coal gas, steam, liquefied petroleum gas. For structural purposes: as piling pipes, bridges; Pipes for docks, roads, building structures, etc.

Spiral Welded Steel Pipe Quality Inspection:

Specific detection is as below:

visual inspection. Trough the surface inspection found that there are many weld surface defects and deviations on sizes.

physical test. Further testing on the spiral steel pipe by ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic permeability and so on.

strength test. Through pressure test to check whether weld seam under pressure is tight enough to ensure the strength of spiral steel pipe.

density test. By kerosene test, load test and flush water test and other test to check whether there is no-dense spiral pipe defect when storing liquid or gas, such as penetrating cracks, pores, slag, incomplete penetration and loose organization.

hydrostatic testing. By hydrostatic test to check for each pipe to ensure leakage does not occur in the larger internal pressure situation.
