Alloy pipes have a hollow section and are widely used as pipelines for transporting fluids, such as pipelines for transporting oil, natural gas, gas, water and some solid materials. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, alloy steel pipe is lighter in weight when the bending and torsional strength is the same, alloy steel pipe is an economic section steel, widely used in the manufacture of structural parts and mechanical parts, such as oil drill pipes, automobile transmission shafts, bicycle racks and steel scaffolding used in building construction. The use of alloy steel pipe to manufacture ring parts, can improve material utilization, simplify the manufacturing process, save materials and processing hours, such as rolling bearing rings, jack sleeves, etc., has been widely used steel pipe manufacturing. Alloy steel pipe is also an indispensable material for all kinds of conventional weapons, gun barrels, etc. must be made of steel pipes. Alloy steel pipes can be divided into round tubes and special-shaped tubes according to different cross-sectional area shapes. Since the circular area is largest under the condition of equal circumference, more fluid can be transported with a round tube. In addition, the torus section is more uniform when subjected to internal or external radial pressure, so the vast majority of steel pipes are round tubes.

The production process:

Hot rolled (extruded seamless steel pipe): Round pipe billet → heated → perforated→ three-roll oblique rolling, continuous rolling or extrusion → de-sizing→ sizing (or reducing diameter) → cooling → billet pipe → straightening→ hydrostatic test (or flaw detection) → marking → storage.

Cold-drawn seamless steel pipe: round round pipe billet → heating→ perforation→ heading→ annealing→ pickling→ oiling (copper plating), →multi-pass cold-drawn (cold-rolled) →billet pipe→ heat treatment→ straightening→ hydrostatic test (flaw detection) → marking → storage
